According to the Organizing Committee, the training course lasts 2 months, for lecturers of Thu Dau Mot University, directly trained by experts from Sun Edu and IC technology corporations. During the learning process, lecturers will receive guidance and practical support from experienced experts and participating lecturers will have access to the entire library and teaching materials of large corporations such as Synopsys, Cadence, then building a practical IC design curriculum for future teaching.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Principal of Thu Dau Mot University, said that the highlight of this program is that lecturers can access and use IC design software and training content focus on practical knowledge that is truly useful for retraining practitioners and students, ensuring that after completing the course and thoroughly passing the quality test. Students can start working right away at IC design companies, which is what large companies and corporations in the IC field in the world want when recruiting. In addition, it helps students who are lecturers and administrators grasp basic knowledge of management and operations at their units.

“In the near future, we will coordinate with Sun Edu International Education Joint Stock Company, universities, related departments such as the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Information and Communications and training units in the province to open more IC design training classes in order to build the necessary resources for the development of the semiconductor IC industry, which plays a particularly important role in the economic development of the province,” said Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong.

At the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park, said that the global semiconductor chip industry has grown 14% per year from 2001 to present and is still growing strongly, expected to reach 1,000 billion USD by 2030. At the same time, this industry needs to add nearly 1 million human resources. Introducing practice in Vietnam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi said that Vietnam aims to become an IC design center in the region and the world, reaching the top 5 in the world by 2030 with its human resource needs for this industry about 50,000. Mr. Thi said that Vietnam’s Southeast region has a lot of potential to develop this industry. Ho Chi Minh City alone needs to train to improve skills for about 40,000 engineers from now to 2030, or about 6,000 engineers per year. Next, Binh Duong province also has a lot of potential to develop human resources for this industry.

According to Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee, the intensive training course on IC design for instructors is the starting class for the program to train high-quality human resources in the field of microchip sales to meet the socio-economic development requirements of Binh Duong province in the new period. With the goal of participating in, promoting the development of the semiconductor ecosystem and creating new motivation and attraction to increase the attraction of high-tech investment in the province.

“I encourage the initiative to link training between universities and businesses to develop human resources in the field of semiconductor chips, that is between Thu Dau Mot University and Sun Edu International Education Joint Stock Company, Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park Management Board. This can be said to be a good model, taking a leap forward in linking training of high-quality human resources to meet the immediate and long-term requirements of Binh Duong province’s semiconductor chip human resources in contributing to realizing the Government’s goal of 50,000 engineers by 2030 for the semiconductor chip industry,” Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha emphasized.

To develop and participate in the global supply chain of the semiconductor chip industry of Binh Duong province in association with realizing the goal of building a smart city, it is necessary to develop a plan to train high-quality human resources of Binh Duong province, said Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee. In addition to the circuit design course, Thu Dau Mot University should continue to deploy other training courses to improve skills in other technology fields related to industry 4.0 such as Internet of Things, smart manufacturing, digital transformation in businesses and artificial intelligence, to perfect the training ecosystem in the field of high technology.

Mr. Nguyen Van Loi suggested that Universities need to proactively and creatively propose appropriate mechanisms and policies to the Provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee. The province will be ready to create facilities and investment conditions to deploy high-quality human resource training for the locality.

“The province will direct functional branches to coordinate with Thu Dau Mot University to develop a project to improve the training quality of Thu Dau Mot University, to work with the system of universities in the province to train human resources to serve the province’s development requirements. The provincerequest the leaders of the Provincial People’s Committee, leaders of relevant departments and branches to pay attention, support and create conditions for the school to implement the contents as mentioned, in order to build Binh Duong province to have a microchip industry leading the country,” said Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Loi.

Currently, Thu Dau Mot University is an internationally prestigious university, a member of CDIO and affiliated with AUN. It has met high quality standards, with many quality accreditation training sectors. It achieves 4-star UPM standards, among the top 50 best schools in Vietnam, and high international rankings. On the partner side, Sun Edu International Education Joint Stock Company is one of the pioneers in international training in the field of electronics and semiconductor circuits. With a breakthrough vision and mission, Sun Edu aims to build an advanced training model, combining theory and practice, applying modern technology with a team of leading experts with many years of experience and expertise./.
