For 2 months, Thu Dau Mot University lecturers were trained in IC design and then taught to students to develop human resources in this field.

The opening ceremony of the IC design lecturer training course was held at Thu Dau Mot University, on the morning of January 8. Accordingly, school lecturers are directly taught by Sun Edu experts and representatives of microchip corporations. During the learning process, lecturers are supported in practice, access to libraries, teaching materials from corporations such as Synopsys, Cadence… This is the basis to help lecturers build a suitable IC design curriculum. practical training for students.

When participating in the course, instructors can access and use IC design software and the teaching content focuses on practical knowledge. The training program follows the ToT (Train of trainer) model, which means that after being trained, instructors will teach students. After completing the course and quality check, students can work immediately at IC design companies.

According to Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Principal of Thu Dau Mot University, the lecturers participating in the course are the core resource for training talents in the semiconductor industry not only in Binh Duong but also in the surrounding area. This human resource contributes to the development of the semiconductor chip ecosystem in Binh Duong, the Southeast region and the whole country.

Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi said that the upcoming development strategy and planning of Binh Duong will reserve about 1.500 hectares of land converted from industrial parks and other clean land sources for the semiconductor industry. The province also spent about 250 hectares to develop a core area for microchip research located in Binh Duong new city, associated with Eastern International University. Accordingly, preparing human resources plays a decisive role.

In order for IC human resources to meet business needs, Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park Nguyen Anh Thi believes that there is a need for upskilling training courses for talents with expertise close to the industry. microchip so they can work sooner. There needs to be preferential policies for human resources in terms of salary, personal income tax… “We are ready to accompany the Southeast provinces in shaping the microchip development strategy in the coming time,” Mr. Thi said at the meeting. event.

In 2023, Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park coordinates with partners to organize circuit design training for 58 students who are lecturers from 13 universities and 54 students trained in semiconductor chip physical design skills. according to business orders. In the near future, the program will expand training for students and university lecturers in the Northern region to develop human resources for IC design.
