On December 28, at Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP), Ansys Software Pvt Ltd (Ansys), a world leading company in providing technical simulation software solutions, and the  Ho Chi Minh City High Tech Park Management Board held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement to develop human resources in the semiconductor chip industry in Vietnam. Through the cooperation, Ansys hopes to have the opportunity to provide Ansys academic teaching software tools and related training programs to universities in Ho Chi Minh City through the Ansys Innovation Space.

Speaking at the cooperation signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park Management Board, believes that the cooperation between Hi-Tech Park and Ansys will bring positive results. This program will create opportunities for students to access the latest technology and methods in engineering simulation, while also gaining practical experience to achieve success in the high-tech field, contributing to improving the operational capacity of the Electronics and Semiconductor Chip Training Center (ESC), as well as developing the semiconductor industry for Ho Chi Minh City and the growth of the Vietnamese economy.

Mr. Rafiq Somani, Vice President of Ansys in Indian Ocean and South Asia, said that Ansys software line including RedHawk, Sherlock, HFSS, PowerArtist offers unique capabilities to help electronics and semiconductor companies, researchers and students accelerate the design and innovation process for next-generation high-tech products. This software is used by many of the world’s leading companies and universities to enhance the capabilities of high-tech products. Leading software in simulation and design along with Ansys’ global expertise in this field will help SHTP realize its goal of developing simulation skills and design capabilities for high-tech industries. Ansys is fully committed to supporting SHTP in realizing its vision to help develop the high-tech industry in Vietnam.”

Speaking at the cooperation agreement signing ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan praised the initiative and determination of the High-Tech Park Management Board in implementing the People’s Committee’s instructions in preparing conditions to attract investment, especially human resources in the electronics and semiconductor chip industries.

Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan said that developing the electronics and semiconductor chip industry is a major policy of the Party and State. To realize this policy, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has directed departments and agencies, especially Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park, to urgently advise and prepare conditions on mechanisms, policies, land funds and especially highly qualified human resources, to attract investment in field of electronics and semiconductor chips. Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park has actively proposed and implemented many initiatives to promote the training of high-quality human resources for the electronics and semiconductor industry, with the goal of becoming a leading electronics and semiconductor center in Vietnam. It will attract the participation of outstanding lecturers and students from many universities in Vietnam.

Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan affirmed that in order to effectively implement Resolution 98 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies to develop Ho Chi Minh City, the City will continue to research and further develop science and technology infrastructure, provide additional facilities to serve high-tech industries, including semiconductor chips, aiming to become a center for the development of the semiconductor chip industry and the national science and technology renovation center, bringing regional and international competitiveness. Expanding the domestic and foreign collaboration ecosystem in the field of electronics and semiconductor chips, especially cooperation with companies providing software for design and technical simulation of products and semiconductors are necessary and important.

* Within the framework of the cooperation signing ceremony, the delegation visited the Electronics and Semiconductor Chip Center (ESC), which is a cooperation model between SHTP Training under the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park and the Sun Edu International Education Joint Stock Company, one of the pioneers in training electronics and semiconductor chips having recently signed a cooperation agreement with the National Innovation Center (NIC) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment to establish a Semiconductor Chip Design Center at NIC Hoa Lac (inaugurated on October 28, 2023).
